Our Referrals

Safe Families launched in Peoria in 2015 and most recently absorbed the Bloomington area in 2022. We are excited to serve families in the Peoria/Bloomington area. The counties we serve are: McLean, Livingston, Dewitt, Peoria, Knox, Bureau, Marshall, Woodford and Tazewell.

Our Churches

The backbone of the Safe Families for Children movement is the Church. We truly believe that the Church must take its rightful place in caring for the vulnerable members in our community. The needs in our community are great and we desperately need the Church to step up and help shine Jesus love.  Each church has differing congregation sizes and they vary from denominational to non-denominational backgrounds, but there is a commonality among them in that they all desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need in our community.

Our Team

Our wonderful group of volunteers make the Safe Families movement possible in the Peoria and Bloomington area.  They are supported by a staff of professionals dedicated to assisting the volunteers and helping families in crisis get back on their feet. Our staff devotes their time towards engaging churches, building the volunteer base, transitioning children, meeting with local agencies, providing volunteer trainings,  supporting placing parents, and so much more.
