Volunteer Application

There are many ways that you can get involved in the Safe Families for Children movement!

Host Family takes children into their home while a parent is working through a difficult situation. Hostings can last anywhere from a couple of days up to a couple months, with the average being 6 weeks.

A Family Friend, works with an at-risk family that would benefit from healthy supports.  Family Friends can also support Host Families by providing meals, respite care, transportation, etc.  If you intend to babysit for a host or placing family within your own home, you will need to complete a host family application.

Family Coach supports the hosted child, Host Family, and Parents in Crisis. Volunteer family coaches visit the host home weekly, facilitate visits between the hosted child and parent in crisis, and help the parent secure the appropriate resources to help them move from crisis to stability.

A Resource Friend can assist Host Families and Families in Crisis with goods and services they may need. This help may come in the form of diapers, formula, gently used equipment or clothing. They can also donate their professional services when needed.
